Bridge Los Angeles (Bridge LA) was founded by Isabella Jimenez, a high school sophomore (currently a junior) and dedicated soccer player with over eight years of competitive soccer experience. Currently playing for Rebels FC in the DPL Soccer League, Isabella has witnessed firsthand the challenges young women face in pursuing their passion for soccer. Her journey to founding Bridge LA began with an unsettling realization: many soccer clubs prioritize financial sustainability over the well-being and development of their players and communities. In addition, the most known soccer leagues have no interest in addressing issues relating to racism, equality, or parent concerns. We hope to change that.

The turning point came when Isabella’s previous club experienced organizational challenges, revealing the underlying inequities in club soccer. In many low-income communities, young athletes—especially girls—are denied the opportunity to succeed due to a lack of resources and support. For these young women, the absence of affordable and high-quality training creates an insurmountable barrier to reaching their potential.
Determined to make a difference, Isabella founded Bridge LA to address these systemic disparities. The program aims to provide free, professional-level soccer training to children who might otherwise never have the chance to play. By sparking an initial interest in soccer and fostering the talents of those with the drive to succeed, Bridge LA empowers young athletes to achieve their goals.
Central to Bridge LA’s vision is the promotion of diversity and inclusion through a distinctive Spanish style of soccer, offering an alternative to the one-sided approach prevalent in many programs today. This focus ensures that players gain a broader, more dynamic understanding of the sport.
Isabella and the Bridge LA team are committed to bridging the gap for young female athletes who dream of excelling in soccer but are financially constrained. Through professional training, community workshops, and after-school programs, Bridge LA fosters a sense of belonging and provides essential support for young athletes to thrive. This initiative is not just about soccer—it’s about creating opportunities, building confidence, and transforming lives.
