Our After School Program
Soccer is Life!
Soccer is Life!
Soccer is Life! by Bridge Los Angeles brings high-quality, club-level soccer training directly into public schools, creating opportunities for students who might otherwise never have access to the game at a competitive level. Led by experienced, licensed coaches, the program builds skill, discipline, and confidence while emphasizing teamwork and leadership. Beyond practice, students compete in organized tournaments and will soon participate in a Spring League, giving them consistent, real-game experience and something to train toward. From the field to the community, Soccer is Life! is more than a program, it’s a pathway to opportunity, exposure, and self-belief.

The Mariachi Project
The Mariachi Project by Bridge Los Angeles brings the energy, pride, and tradition of mariachi music directly into schools—giving students hands-on experience with real instruments, professional instruction, and the opportunity to perform for their community. More than just music, the program builds confidence, teamwork, and cultural identity while creating a pathway for youth to connect with their heritage and shine on stage. Through structured lessons, ensemble training, and live performances, students don’t just learn mariachi—they become part of it.
Field Trips
We offer exciting field trip opportunities, such as: 1. Attending professional men’s or women’s soccer matches. Los Angeles is home to two men’s teams and one women’s team, providing a fantastic chance for children to experience professional soccer up close. In some matches, children can even participate as ball boys/girls or take part in other game-day activities. 2. Children can play a soccer match on the actual pitch of a professional stadium, creating unforgettable memories. Families, staff, and friends are welcome to come along and cheer for the school in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Our Mission And Our Identity

Low Income Communities
Low-income communities do not have the resources to expose their children to the world of soccer. Some children are living in single parent households or have both parents working full-time with no time to take the children to soccer programs like AYSO. No time or no money. We bring the soccer experience to you and to your community.
Unlocking Soccer Potential
We want to provide essential support in the form of an after school program at local schools and give opportunities to children who want to play recreational to competitive soccer, but do not have the resources or training they need.
Proper Instruction
AYSO coaches are volunteers with basic training, not professionals. In contrast, our coaches are licensed experts, skilled in teaching all levels of soccer. Our Coaching Director, Ivan, holds a UEFA Pro license and played professionally in Spain. He’s committed to bringing Spanish football style to the U.S.
Target Audience
Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident
We are currently targeting primary schools (grades from preschool to 5th grade) and middle schools (grades from 6th to 8th grade). In the future, we plan to coordinate with high school to provide them with trained and licensed coaches for their soccer teams.
Safety is our top priority. At this time, we only provide services to schools with grass or turf fields, as playing on concrete is unsafe for children. However, we can develop indoor soccer programs for schools with access to a gym, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all players.
We are dedicated to serving schools in low-income or limited-access communities, focusing on providing opportunities for every child to play, learn, and grow through soccer. Our goal is to bring the game to those who need it most, ensuring equitable access for all. While these communities are our primary focus, our programs are open to all schools looking to provide their students with a chance to experience the joy and benefits of soccer.
Our Current Schools
Montague Charter Academy (MCA) in Pacoima, CA, a Title 1 school, was the first to experience our program—and it has been a tremendous success. The children love it and eagerly look forward to each session. We are deeply grateful for the trust and confidence MCA has placed in us. Building on this success, we have begun reaching out to other schools and are excited about our ongoing expansion. As we grow, we plan to introduce tournaments, adding another layer of excitement and opportunity for our participants
Phases of our Organization
Revenue generated from our school partnerships is reinvested into our program to cover coaching salaries and provide essential equipment for our participants. Neither the board nor the founder receives a salary for administering the organization, ensuring that every dollar serves the mission. Additionally, any surplus revenue from Bridge LA’s Soccer is Life! program is directed back into the community to create meaningful opportunities and expand access to the sport. Bridge LA is committed to expanding the love of soccer throughout the San Fernando Valley by fostering opportunities for local college students, promoting leadership development, and increasing representation of women coaches. Our efforts are outlined in four strategic phases. Phases 1 and 2 are successfully underway, and Phase 3 is currently in progress.
Phase 1
Building Foundations Through After-School Soccer Programs:
Launch accessible soccer programs in primary and secondary schools, integrating professional coaching and education into after-school activities. Foster school pride and sportsmanship through tournaments and competitions between schools, creating opportunities for kids to grow both athletically and socially.
Phase 2
Establishing Pathways to Leadership and Careers:
Partner with local colleges and universities to develop community leaders and licensed coaches. Create opportunities for aspiring coaches and physical therapists by providing hands-on training and mentorship, building a bridge between education and real-world application.
Phase 3
Empowering Women Through Coaching Initiatives:
Collaborate with U.S. Soccer and CalSouth to provide coaching license scholarships specifically for women in underserved communities. Focus on increasing representation and leadership among women in the soccer world while advancing equity and inclusion in the sport.
Phase 4
Creating State-of-the-Art Soccer Facilities:
Secure funding through grants and sponsorships to acquire and develop tournament-grade soccer complexes in the San Fernando Valley. Build facilities that rival the best in California, providing local athletes with professional-grade spaces to train and compete, further solidifying soccer’s role in our community.
